NATCHEZ – Services for George J. Nosser Sr., 86, of Natchez, who died Tuesday, April 15, 2008, at his residence, will be at 3 p.m. today at Laird Funeral Home Union Street Chapel with the Rev. Edwin Temple officiating.
Burial will follow at Natchez City Cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 2 p.m. until service time today at the funeral home.
Mr. Nosser was born Oct. 3, 1921, in Clarksdale, the son of John Joseph Nosser and Latefy Jabour Nosser.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Joseph John Nosser and Peter John Nosser; and one son, William Francis Nosser.
Survivors include his wife, Frances Landry Nosser; five sons, John Joseph Nosser, George John Nosser and wife, Vicki, and Joseph Curtis Nosser, all of Natchez, Leo Landry Nosser and wife, Linda, both of Houston, and Homer Paul Nosser and wife, Nita, both of Bryant, Ark.; two daughters, Georgia Carol Nosser Keown of Baton Rouge and Alexis Nosser Tapp of Denver; 13 grandchildren, Latefy Schoen and husband, Tom, Vernon Keown and Casey Lane, all of Baton Rouge, Ron Tapp and wife, Erin, both of Birmingham, Ala., Stephanie Nichols and husband, Matthew, both of Denver, Jay Nosser and wife, Julie, both of Belle Chase, La., Justin Nosser of Waveland, Elaine Nosser, Lauren Nosser, Amy Nosser, all of Houston, Christina Nosser, William Nosser, both of Little Rock, Ark., and Kayla Nosser of Natchez; 11 great-grandchildren, Landon Guy, Preston Guy, Taylor Schoen, Nathan Schoen, Jesse Everett, Charley Lain, all of Baton Rouge, Holland Tapp and Arden Tapp, both of Birmingham, Cameron Nichols and Ella Nichols, both of Salida, Colo., and Braden Nosser of Belle Chase; three sisters, Josephine Nosser Thompson of Ridgeland, Ann Nosser Sims of Bay Springs and Jean Nosser Biglane and husband, Freddie, both of Natchez; and a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.
Pallbearers will be Alan Ingram, Rob Ogden, Jay Nosser, Justin Nosser, William Nosser and Vernon Keown.
Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
