BROOKHAVEN — Services for Gwendolyn Joyce Hinson Cavin, 71, of Wesson, who died Sunday, July 14, 2013, at her residence after a lengthy battle with cancer, will be at 2 p.m. today at Riverwood Family Funeral Service Chapel in Brookhaven.
Burial will follow at the Wesson Cemetery under the direction of Riverwood Family Funeral Service.
Visitation will be from noon until service time today at the funeral home.
Mrs. Cavin was born Feb. 9, 1942, in Meridian, the daughter of Clinton Hinson and Minnie Blackwell Hinson.
She was a graduate of Natchez High School and Copiah-Lincoln Community College.
Mrs. Cavin was employed by Bank of Wesson as a teller. She served as the secretary and bookkeeper at Wesson Attendance Center for 27 years until her retirement in 2004.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Herman Cavin; her parents; and two brothers, Johnny Hinson and Larry Hinson.
Survivors include one daughter, Lea Ann Knight and husband, Phillip, of Wesson; one brother and sister-in-law, Roger and Betty Smith of Natchez; one sister-in-law, Sharon Hinson of Waterproof, La.; and one granddaughter, Whitney Knight.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Make a Wish Foundation of Mississippi and/or Copiah-Lincoln Community College Foundation.
