NATCHEZ — Services for Lilia Marvel Bell, 85, of Natchez, who died Wednesday, July 3, 2013, at Natchez Community Hospital, will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Rose Hill Baptist Church with the Rev. Robert Strickland officiating.
Burial will follow at the Natchez National Cemetery under the direction of Marshall Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home in Natchez and from 9 a.m. until service time Friday at the church.
Mrs. Bell was born Dec. 18, 1927, in Robinson Bottom, the daughter of Joseph Anderson Sr. and Estelle Barner.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Clinton Bell; one son, Reginald D. Marvel Sr.; one brother, Joseph Anderson Jr.; and two sisters, Alice Wilkerson and Vivian Berry.
Survivors include eight daughters, Flora Morales of Las Vegas, Patricia Bernard and husband, Curtis, of Los Angeles, Joyce Johnson of Detroit, Glenda Harrison, Blanche Marvel and Andrea Marvel, all of Natchez, Stacy Briggs and husband, Vincent, of Roxie and Carolyn Marvel of Decatur, Ala.; five sons, James Harris and wife, Sharon, of Norfolk, Va., the Rev. Clifton Marvel Sr. and wife, Alma, Karl Marvel and Alex Marvel and wife, Patricia, all of Natchez, and Albert Marvel Jr. and wife, Lisa, of San Bernadino, Calif.; two grandsons she raised as her own children, Wesley Bell and wife, Sheread, and LaJohn Bell, all of Natchez; three sisters, Elizabeth Ward, Eva Anderson and Yvonne Clark; one brother-in-law, Willie Bell; 28 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives, neighbors, church family and friends.
