NATCHEZ – Services for Sylvester Wilson Sr., 61, of Natchez, who died Saturday, April 26, 2008, at Hospice Ministries, in Ridgeland, will be at 11:30 a.m. Saturday at Second Union Baptist Church.
Burial will follow at the church cemetery under the direction of Marshall Funeral Home in Bude.
Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until service time Saturday at the church.
Mr. Wilson was born Feb. 15, 1947, in Natchez, the son of Roosevelt and Maude B. Wilson. He was a member of L.F.&C Society and Good Samaritan Society.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, George Belton Sr. and Richard Wilson.
Survivors include his wife, Betty J. Pollard Wilson; one daughter, Catherine Latham and husband, Paul, both of Natchez; two sons, Sylvester Wilson Jr. and Lena Mitchell and Troy Wilson and Shante Stevenson, all of Natchez; five grandchildren, Kevochie Pollard, Sylvester Wilson III and Zomonie Wilson, all of Natchez, Kaniesha Wilson and Darrell Stevenson, both of Houston; one sister, Rosie B. Wilson of Natchez; two brothers, Arthur Wilson and wife, Annie, both of Sibley, and Willie Wilson and wife, Lena, both of Natchez; one adopted sister, Glenda Mazique of Natchez; two adopted brothers, Landy Wilson and Jerry Wilson and wife, Debra, all of Natchez; three aunts, Beulah Irving and husband, Arthur, Laura Swazy and husband, Fird, and Gertrude Wilson, all of Natchez; two uncles-in-law, Wilson Early and Fayette Marsaw, both of Natchez; two special cousins, Emmett Jefferson and Raymond Woodfork; and a number of other relatives and friends.
