NATCHEZ — A memorial service for Ronald “Ronnie” Sims, 55, of Natchez, who died Monday, May 5, 2008, in Madison, Ga., will be held Monday, May 12, 2008, at 11 a.m. at the Natchez National Cemetery.
Mr. Sims graduated from high school in Natchez in 1970, attended Tulane University in New Orleans and served 18 years and 9 months as a Tech Sergeant in the U.S. Air Force. Upon his honorable discharge from the Air Force, Ronnie retired to the state of George until his death.
Survivors include two sons, Ronald Dwayne Sims of Vidalia and Taurian Sims of Clayton; a loving mother, Flora Sims Profit and father, Edward Profit, both of Natchez; three brothers, Edward L. Profit of New Orleans, James Edward Wesley of Clayton and Charles Sims and wife, Beatrice, both of Natchez; a loving and special aunt, Hazel Lee Green of Natchez; one sister, Johnnie Mae Smith of Doloroso; childhood friends, Edward Brown and Roosevelt Owens, both of Natchez; a companion of six years, Deliah Crutchfield; and a number of other relatives and friends.
