ZACHARY, La. — Services for Lev David Ashley Sr., 75, of Zachary, La., who died Sunday, June 30, 2013, at his residence, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Zachary United Methodist Church with the Rev. Greg Davis officiating.
Graveside services will follow at 12:30 p.m. at Hopewell Memorial in Crosby under the direction of Charlet Funeral Home Inc., in Clinton, La.
Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home and from 8:30 until service time Saturday at the church.
Mr. Ashley was a native of Crosby. He was the former owner of Sylvester’s Western Store and had a lifelong passion for car racing.
Mr. Ashley was preceded in death by his wife of 47 years, Maxine Sylvester Ashley and his parents, Lev and Florine Durham Ashley.
Survivors include four children, Sharen Ashley Mizell and husband, John, of Folsom, La., Helen Suzonne Ashley, Lev David Ashley Jr., Rohn Ashley and wife, Alice, and Rhonda Ashley Dillon, all of Zachary, and 13 grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Alex Ashley, Spencer Mizell, Chris Cuzzort, Doug Barton, Jimmy Noland and Grant Ashley.
Honorary pallbearers will be Stanley Lambert and Freddy Fryar.
