FERRIDAY – Services for Lula Mae Taylor, 73, of Ferriday, who died Sunday, May 18, 2008, at her residence, will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Mount Beulah Baptist Church with the Rev. Eugene Williams officiating.
Burial will follow at Ferriday Cemetery under the direction of Concordia Funeral Home in Ferriday.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Mrs. Taylor was born March 9, 1935, in Lorman, the daughter of Percy and Atlanta Harris Mason. She was a retired cook and was a member of Mount Beulah Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Atkins Banks; her second husband, Willie Taylor; one daughter, Ida Smith; and four brothers and one sister.
Survivors include six daughters, Mildred Keys, Bobbie Banks and husband, L.V., Linda Johnson and husband, Larry, Jennifer Banks and husband, Ernie, and Amelia Banks, all of Ferriday, and Betty Harbor and husband, Cleveland, both Sicily Island; four sons, Percy Banks of St. Joseph, Johnny Banks of New Orleans, Dale P. Banks and wife, Kim, both of Sioux Falls, S.D., and Derrick Mason and wife, Etta, both of Marietta, Ga.; three brothers, Mark J. Mason of St. Joseph, Arthur Mason and wife, Helen, both of Chicago, and Nathaniel Oliver of Fayette; four sisters, Dixie Mason and husband, Ed, and Martha Crayton, all of Lorman, Alice Foster and Cari Johnson, both of Chicago; 18 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.
