FERRIDAY – Services for Michael Dewayne Griggs, 14, of Ferriday, who died Thursday, May 15, 2008, in an accident on Highway 84 West, in Ferriday, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Mount Olive Baptist Church with the Rev. Shep Bethley officiating.
Burial will follow at Vidalia Cemetery under the direction of Concordia Funeral Home in Ferriday.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Michael was born Feb. 13, 1994, in Ferriday, the son of Jonathan “Doty” Garrison and Colleen Griggs. He was a student at Ferriday Junior High School.
Michael was preceded in death by his father.
Survivors include his mother; three brothers, Donnie Sanders Jr. and DaShon Griggs, all of Ferriday, and Javentay Henderson of Monroe; four sisters, Kayana Garrison, Jada Griggs, Asya Griggs and DeAndra Griggs, all of Ferriday; maternal grandmother, Pauline Griggs Matthews; paternal grandmother, Annette Garrison; devoted uncle, Alvin Garrison, all of Ferriday; and a number of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
