NATCHEZ- Services for Sylena Johnson Perry, 54, of Natchez, who died Tuesday, May 27, 2008, in Jackson, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Mount Olive Baptist Church with the Rev. James Brooks officiating.
Burial will follow at Mount Sinai Baptist Church Cemetery under the direction of Robert D. Mackel and Sons Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from noon to 7 p.m. today and from 10 a.m. until service to Saturday at the church.
Mrs. Perry was born April 24, 1954, in Adams County, the daughter of Isaac Johnson and Julie McGee Johnson. She attended Adams County Public Schools and was a member of Mount Sinai Baptist Church. Mrs. Perry was formerly employed with Ramada Inn for over 30 years as the head housekeeper, and most recently, with Natchez Community Hospital.
She was preceded in death by her mother.
Survivors include her husband, Nathaniel Perry; two sons, James Johnson and wife, Evelyn, and Gary Johnson, all of Natchez; father and stepmother, Dorothy Lee Johnson, both of Natchez; one stepson, Keith Mazique and companion, Ahayna, both of Natchez; five sisters, JoAnn Perry, Mary Lee Johnson, Charlotte Henyard and husband, Dave, Alice J. Johnson and husband, Larry, and Roberta Washington and husband, Billy Jo, all of Natchez; three brothers, William Isaac Johnson and wife, Carolyn, both of Modesto, Calif., Joseph Johnson and wife, Rhonda, and Ernest Johnson and wife, Joann, all of Natchez; one stepsister, Lydia Collins and husband, Timothy, both of Lacombe, La.; six grandchildren; one great-uncle, Lee Andrew Williams of Natchez; six sisters and brothers-in-law, Nancy Green and husband, Greg, Bertha Lyles, Shirley Jackson and husband, Henry, Joe Perry and wife, Linda, Theodore Perry and James Perry and wife, Claudette, all of Natchez; and a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers will be Theodore Perry, Joe Green, Fred Brown Jr., Donald Ray Barnes, Charles Barnes and Joe Williams.
Honorary pallbearers will be Joe Johnson, Ernest Johnson, Joe Perry and Joe Woods.
