NATCHEZ – Services for Willie Mae Edwards, 63, of Natchez, who died Wednesday, May 28, 2008, at her residence, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Egypt Baptist Church with the Rev. Ernest Ford officiating.
Burial will follow at the church cemetery under the direction of Robert D. Mackel and Sons Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from noon to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home and from 10 a.m. until service time Saturday at the church.
Ms. Edwards was born Nov. 8, 1944, in Adams County, the daughter of Frank Christmas Sr. and Rosa Lyles. She was a member of Egypt Baptist Church and was formerly employed with Lady Luck Casino as a slot host.
Ms. Edwards was preceded in death by her father; and two brothers, Robert Edwards and Kelvin Christmas.
Survivors include two daughters, Mary Ann Anderson and husband, Gregory, both of Baton Rouge, and Velma Williams and companion, Dennis, both of Natchez; two sons, Johnnie Williams and companion, Shelia, both of Natchez, and Henry Williams and companion, Tesha, both of Baton Rouge; her mother and stepfather, Early Lyles; four granddaughters, Tasha Green and Erica Williams, both of Natchez, Tonya Jones of Baton Rouge and Adreienne Jones of Jackson; two grandsons, Johnnie Williams Jr. and Jadarius Williams, both of Natchez, and an unborn grandson expected in the fall; seven brothers, Walter James, Willie James, Charles Edwards and wife, Pamela, and Joseph Edwards and wife, Salina, all of Natchez; Dewayne Christmas, Darrian Christmas and Frank Christmas Jr., all of New Orleans; three sisters, Alberta Davis and Karen Anderson, both of Natchez, and Deenen Christmas of New Orleans; and special friends and caregivers, Shirley Green, Rose Myles and Vanessa Green, all of Natchez;
Pallbearers will be friends of the family.
