FERRIDAY – Services for Olandry Emmett Kenney Sr., 74, of Ferriday , who died Tuesday, June 24, 2008, in Ferriday, will be at 3 p.m. Friday at Comer Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Albert Fraley officiating.
Burial will follow at Central Cemetery, in Wisner, La., under the direction of Comer Funeral Home in Ferriday.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Mr. Kenney was born April 15, 1934, in Wisner, the son of Karl K. and Elaine P. Kenney. He was a resident of Ferriday for over 40 years and was a retired contractor.
Mr. Kenney was also a member of the Natchez Bowling Association and Giles Island Hunting Club, where he was an overseer and a guide.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and stepfather, George Poteet.
Survivors include his wife, Peggy Kenney of Vidalia; five children, Rickey Kenney and wife, Tammy, both of Gilbert, La., Carol Kenney of Natchitoches, La., Emmett Kenney Jr. and wife, Jolene, and Ada “Skeeter” Kenney, all of Vidalia, and Ken Kenney and wife, Theresa, both of Ferriday; three brothers, Shelby Kenney and wife, Beverly, Butch Poteet and wife, Judy, and Victor Kenney; two sisters, Shirley Bergman and husband, Larry, and Tammy Kenney; 13 grandchildren, Brandy Brownell and husband, Anthony, Shandalynn Newman and husband, Anthony, Mitch Kenney and fiancée, Stacia Mulvihill, Michael Kenney, Elisha Kenney and fiancé, Justin Biglane, Chad Kenney, Corey Kenney, Matthew Ozburn, Lauren Bathlett, Josh Kenney, Kaylee Kenney, Angel Kenney and Landon Kenney; seven great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Rickey Kenney, Emmett Kenney Jr., Ken Kenney, Mitch Kenney, Chad Kenney and Darrell Kenney.
