FAYETTE — Services for Earnest “King Fish” Turner, 74, of Dallas, formerly of Fayette, who died Wednesday, June 5, 2013, at the Methodist Central Hospital in Dallas, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Pine Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Percy Turner officiating.
Burial will follow at the church cemetery under the direction of Spencer Funeral Home in Fayette.
Visitation will be from 2 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home and from 10 a.m. until service time Saturday at the church.
Mr. Turner was born Oct. 28, 1938, in Fayette, the son of Warren Turner Sr. and Rosie Carradine Turner. He was also known as “Bee.”
In July 1969, he married Irene Echols. To this union, three children were born, Coretta, Gloria and Earnest T. Turner.
Mr. Turner’s hobbies included walking in the park, gardening and spending time with family.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Ruby Turner Clark; four brothers, Moses, Warren Jr., Jerry and James Turner; and one sister, Helen Turner.
Survivors include his wife, Irene Turner; three daughters, Inca Turner Stewart, Coretta Turner and Gloria “Nakia” Douglas, all of Dallas; two granddaughters, Kierra Fegans and Eriya Turner, both of Dallas; six brothers, Will T., Percy and Robert Turner, all of Fayette, Aaron, Nathan and William Turner, all of New Orleans; three sisters, Rose Lee Turner, Lou Jackson and husband, Stonewall, and Shirley Oliver and husband, James, all of Fayette; and a number of nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors.
