INNSBORO, La. – Services for Darlene Turnage, 72, of Vidalia, formerly of Baskin, La., who died Monday, June 30, 2008, at Natchez Regional Medical Center, will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Young’s Community Memorial Funeral Home with the Rev. Kelly Tingle and the Rev. Ron Ledford officiating.
Burial will follow at Pleasant Hale Cemetery, in Baskin, under the direction of Young’s Community Memorial Funeral Home in Winnsboro.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Mrs. Turnage was born Jan. 29, 1936, in Mangham, La., the daughter of Alonzo B. Nobles Sr. and Mamie Weston Nobles. She was a retired postal carrier and the owner of her own business and café. Mrs. Turnage was a member of the Lone Cherry Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Turnage Sr.; her parents; an infant son, Mark Turnage; two brothers, A.B. Nobles and Emmitt Nobles; and two sisters, Gladys Eubanks and Estelle Stephens.
Survivors include one daughter, Geneva T. Jordan and husband, Buddy, both of Vidalia; one son, Allen Turnage and wife, Sheri, both of Bush, La.; four grandchildren, Jarred Jordan, Rayne Jordan, Samantha Turnage and Katie Turnage; one great-granddaughter, Moriah Jordan; and a number of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Pallbearers will be Rayne Jordan, Joseph Delahoussaye, Roger Warren and Thomas Nobles.
