NATCHEZ – Services for Douglas Charles Lee Sr., 82, of Natchez, who died Wednesday, June 25, 2008, at Natchez Community Hospital, will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Antioch Baptist Church with the Rev. Carl A. Smith officiating.
Burial will follow at the Natchez National Cemetery under the direction of Webb Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 3 to 6 p.m. today at the funeral home and from 10 a.m. until service time Thursday at the church.
Mr. Lee was born Oct. 7, 1925, in Natchez, the son of Phillip Lee and Mamie Miller Lee. He attended Adams County Public Schools and worked as a longshoreman. He was retired.
Mr. Lee was a member of Antioch Baptist Church and was a member of the senior choir. He loved Sunday school.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Douglas Charles Lee Jr.; and one sister, Ruby Dell Haynes.
Survivors include his wife, Carrie Jean Lee; two daughters, Linda Carolyn Yancy and Cheryl Rucker; three stepdaughters, Peggy Y. Sullivan, Joyce M. Brooks Rodriguez and Brenda Lee; two nephews, Jimmy Earl Haynes and Maurice B. Haynes Jr.; three nieces, Velma Joyce Haynes, Janeice Ruth Haynes-Prim and Annette Dell Haynes Turner and Jimmy Roland, all of Oakland, Calif.; and a special cousin, James Ware Sr. of Natchez.
Pallbearers will be Thomas W. Singleton Jr., Harrison L. King III, William Singleton IV, Michael Ware, Brad Ware and Robert Ware.
