NATCHEZ – Services for Charles W. Hammack, 78, of Natchez, who died Thursday, July 3, 2008, in Natchez, will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Laird Funeral Home Union Street Chapel with Mr. Bryant Reed officiating.
Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Mr. Hammack was born June 19, 1930, in Natchez, the son of Myers Eugene and Alice Van Dyke Hammack. He was a member of Jefferson Street United Methodist Church and a lifelong resident of Natchez.
He is preceded in death by his parents; and wife, Evelyn Flowers Hammack.
Survivors include two daughters, Evelyn Whatley and husband, Bernard, and Jennifer Cloy and husband, Timmy, all of Natchez; one son, Charles W. ”Bill” Hammack Jr. and wife, Susanne, both of Tyler, Texas; two grandsons, Bill Whatley of Union and David Whatley of Natchez; two granddaughters, Audrey Sue Hammack of Tyler, Texas and Katie Cloy of Natchez; one brother, John Hammack of Pearland, Texas; two sisters, Margaret Furr, of Wesson, and Dolly Manuel of Greenville, Ala.
Pallbearers will be Bill Whatley, David Whatley, Mark Dillon, James Wilkinson, Elwin Flowers and Gene Barnes.
Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Walter E. Dawkins and Dr. Vikramaditya Dulam.
