Arthur de LaSalle

NEW ORLEANS – Services for Arthur Edward Cavalier de LaSalle, who died Monday, Aug. 11, 2008, at his residence, were 1 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 14, 2008, in New Orleans.
Burial followed at his family’s crypt at the St. Louis No. 3 Cemetery in New Orleans.
Mr. LaSalle was born Aug. 9, 1930, in New Orleans, the son of René Charles Benoit LaSalle and Jeanne Senac LaSalle.
Mr. LaSalle was president and founder of Historic Springfield Foundation and co-founder of American Railroad Equipment Association. He was known far and wide for the tours he conducted over the past 30 years of his home, historic Springfield Plantation, in Jefferson County.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, David LaSalle.
Survivors include two sons, Carl A. Flansbaum of Bellingham, Wash., and Adam D. LaSalle of Richmond, Va.; one daughter, J. Ambre Bash of Pittsburgh, Pa.; and one grandchild.
