NATCHEZ — Services for Mary Elizabeth LeBlanc, 91, of Natchez, who died Tuesday, May 21, 2013, at Natchez Community Hospital, will be at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Mary Basilica with the Rev. David O’Connor officiating.

Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today and from 10 a.m. until service time Friday, both at the church.

Mrs. LeBlanc was born Dec. 6, 1921, in Wisner, La., the daughter of Joe Carroll and Edna Mildred Spann Carroll. She was dedicated to her family and spent her days surrounded by those who loved and cared for her.

A devout Catholic, she was strong in her faith. When she first came to Natchez in the 1940s, Mrs. LeBlanc worked for the Blue Bell garment factory. After raising a family, she went back to work at Ketchings Printing and later Natchez Printing. However, her most rewarding job was being a homemaker and mother. She was an avid reader of every book imaginable and passed this love on to the her children and grandchildren.

Some of her favorite moments were spent at the kitchen table watching the birds in her yard with her family by her side.

Mrs. LeBlanc was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Leon Gilbert “Frenchie” LeBlanc; two brothers, Herley Carroll and Joe Carroll; and one sister, Pauline Foy.

Survivors include two sons, Michael LeBlanc and wife, Cheryl, of Cleveland and Leon LeBlanc and friend, Anna Byrne, of Natchez; one daughter, Suzanne Guido and husband, Paul, of Natchez; one sister, Sarah Freeman; six granddaughters, Christie Washington and husband, Scott, Michelle Jones and husband, Brad, Olivia LeBlanc, Charlie LeBlanc, Aimee Guido and Jennie Guido; one great-granddaughter, Madison Greer; two great-grandsons, Charlie Jones and Hayden Washington; and her beloved cat, Classy.

Pallbearers will be family and friends.
