FERRIDAY — Services for Larry Edward Townsend, 64, of Dallas, formerly of Ferriday, who died Tuesday, May 7, 2013, at Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Rose Hill Baptist Church in Ferriday with the Rev. Freddie Schiele officiating.

Burial will follow at the Ferriday Cemetery under the direction of Concordia Funeral Home in Ferriday.

Mr. Townsend was born March 7, 1949, in Ferriday, the son of Percy and Alma Jones Townsend.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include two sons, Randy Milligan and Michael Martin; one daughter, Sharon Martin, all of Dallas; three brothers, Phillip Townsend of Savannah, Ga., Aaron Jones of Warren, Ohio and Willie Ray Townsend of Topeka, Kan.; three sisters, Alma Cooper and husband, Albert, Gloria Jean Townsend and Geraldine T. Harris; one aunt, Minnie A. Jones, all of Ferriday; eight grandchildren; and a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.
