With summer quickly approaching and warming our lengthening days, the Ladies and Gentlemen of the Natchez Garden Club will be hosting the all-day Seventh Annual Natchez Tour of Gardens on Saturday and would like to invite each of you to attend.

One of the oldest continuous settlements along the Mississippi River, Natchez is home to many historic sites, homes and gardens. The variety of gardens offered on the tour will showcase courtyard gardens, water gardens, historic gardens and outdoor living spaces, each of which are included in hopes to inspire each of you to create your own oasis at your own home.

The tour will include three breathtaking gardens in the morning and three intricate landscapes in the afternoon. Featured gardens of the morning tour include antebellum Greenlea, located at 211 Wall St. and home to Philip and Stella Carby; Gary and Molly Wills’ Victorian home located at 500 Pearl St.; and antebellum Cherokee at 217 High St. and the home to Michael and Sharon Blattner. For the afternoon, you will enjoy touring antebellum Cottage Gardens, located at 816 Myrtle Ave. and the home to Jerald and Betty Jo Krouse; an antebellum Bed and Breakfast, Oak Hill, located at 409 S. Rankin St. and the home to Doug Mauro and Donald McGlynn; and Monmouth Plantation at the corner of Quitman Boulevard and Melrose Avenue and owned by Warren and Nancy Rutherford.

The morning tour is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. with the afternoon tour from 1 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Individual tour tickets are $15 or $25 for both morning and afternoon tours, and a detailed map of downtown Natchez will be provided with the purchase of your tickets. Refreshments will be provided throughout the tour and lunch will be on your own at your preferred favorite eatery in town.
