NATCHEZ — Services for Delanea Louise Johnson Wyatt, 78, of Los Angeles, who died Thursday, April 25, 2013, at her residence, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Zion Chapel African Methodist Episcopal Church with the Rev. Birdon Mitchell Jr. officiating.
Burial will follow at the Natchez City Cemetery under the direction of Robert D. Mackel and Sons Funeral Home.
Visitation will begin at 6 p.m. today with an Omega Omega ceremony by Delta Sigma Theta Sorority at 7 p.m., all at the church.
Mrs. Wyatt was born Sept. 10, 1934, in Natchez, the daughter of Robert and Nannie Johnson. She attended high school at Natchez Junior College and later attended University of California at Los Angeles. She was an educator, realtor and author. She was retired.
Mrs. Wyatt attended Understanding Principals For Better Living Church pastored by Dr. Della Reese. She was a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Urban League, National Realtors Association and the NAACP.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Dr. Theodore R. Wyatt.
Survivors include one sister, Isabel West of Natchez; four brothers, Robert L. Johnson and wife, Joyce, Theodore L. Johnson and wife, Sharon, Larrel D. Johnson and wife, Dorothy, all of Natchez, and Freddie B. Simpson and wife, Shirley, of Jackson.
Pallbearers will be nephews.
