NATCHEZ — Services for Ruby Lee Johnson, 88, of Natchez, who died Sunday, April 28, 2013, at Crown Health and Rehab, will be at 2 p.m. Friday at New Beginning Baptist Church with the Rev. John Scott Jr. officiating.
Burial will follow at LaGrange Baptist Church Cemetery under the direction of Webb Funeral Home.
Visitation will be at begin at 6 p.m. at the funeral home with Eastern Star Ritual ceremony at 7 p.m.
Mrs. Johnson was born Oct. 14, 1924, in Natchez, the daughter of Ruth Lee Davis and Lee Nelson. She was a 1945 graduate of Brumfield High School.
Mrs. Johnson worked as an Adams County Election Commissioner. She was retired.
She was a member of LaGrange Baptist Church and Emma Morris Chapter of Eastern Star.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Vernon Lee Johnson Sr.; two sisters, Katie Davenport and Annie Laura Batieste; and two brothers, Vernon Nelson and George Davis.
Survivors include one daughter, Ruth Johnson Walker and husband, Kenneth; two sons, Author James Johnson and Vernon Johnson Jr.; eight grandchildren; one sister, Jewell McElroy; one sister-in-law, Beatrice Thomas; two brothers-in-law, Felix Wilson and Rayford Bateaste; one aunt-in-law, Ruby Lee Jackson; one daughter-in-law, Edna Johnson; and special caregiver, MeMe Walker.
Pallbearers will be Sedrick Page, Avery Johnson, Kenneth Walker Jr., Author Johnson Jr., Travis Johnson and Jeno Walker Sr.
