FERRIDAY – Services for Fannie Woods Jones, 75, of Ferriday, who died Wednesday, Oct. 15, 2008, at Riverland Medical Center, in Ferriday, will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at New Morning Star Baptist Church with the Rev. Willie Birdon officiating.
Burial will follow at the Natchez National Cemetery under the direction of Concordia Funeral Home in Ferriday.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Mrs. Jones was born July 20, 1933, in Sicily Island, the daughter of Bob and Linner Watson Woods.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Amos Jones Sr.; one son, Victor Jones; and her parents.
Survivors include eight daughters, Margie Panes and husband, Charles, Katherine Stewart and husband, James, all of New Orleans, Sheryl Wilson and husband, Leroy, Dorothy Higgs and husband, Donald, all of Dallas, Mamie Wilson of Chicago, Amma J. Makoni and husband, Passmore, both of Aubrey, Texas, Fannie Mae Jones and husband, Alton, both of Denton, Texas, and Debbie Jones of Ferriday; eight sons, Tommie Wilson and wife, Mamie, both of Jonesville, Benny R. Jones of Dallas, Amos Jones Jr. and wife, Tameka, Russell Jones and Ernest Jones, all of Ferriday, James Jones and wife, Lillie, both of Harrisonburg, La., John Jones and wife, Michelle, both of Natchez, and Hebert Jones and wife, Taysha, both of Garland, Texas; one sister, Linner Tolliver and husband, Henry, both of New Orleans; one sister-in-law, Maddie Robertson of Washington, D.C.; 56 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; 21 great-great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.
