NATCHEZ – Services for Alberta Johnson Carter, 84, of Natchez, who died Tuesday, Oct. 21, 2008, at Promise/River Regional Hospital, will be at noon today at Zion Hill No. 1 Baptist Church.
Burial will follow at the Natchez National Cemetery under the direction of Marshall Funeral Home in Bude.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time today at the church.
Mrs. Carter was born Oct. 9, 1924, in Elcone, La., the daughter of Napoleon Sr. and Margaret James Johnson.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Alexander Carter; her parents; and two brothers.
Survivors include one son, Eddie McCoy; one granddaughter, Kim McCoy; one great-grandson, Darrell Bell, all of Peoria, Ill.; two stepsons, Cleveland Young and wife, Loretta of Natchez and Willie James of New York City; two sisters, Marie Reed and Mary Brown and husband George, all of Natchez; four brothers, Roosevelt Johnson and wife, Diane, and Willie Johnson, all of Natchez, Robert Johnson and Leonard Johnson and wife, Ann, all of New Orleans; and a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
