NATCHEZ — The Adams County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a case of a vehicle arson after someone reportedly set a car on fire Sunday night on Lower Woodville Road.
Sheriff Chuck Mayfield said deputies and the Natchez Fire Department responded to a business at 339 Lower Woodville Road to find a car on fire.
Mayfield said the cause of the fire is suspicious.
“The vehicle had damage to the right (side of the) windshield, and the fire was coming from the right windshield,” he said.
It appears, Mayfield said, that someone damaged the windshield then set it on fire.
A witness, Mayfield said, reported that they saw a man running from the vehicle shortly
