JENA — Funeral services for Charles “Chip” H. Cross, 31, formerly of Jena, who died Friday, April 26, 2013, in Covington, La., will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Whitehall Pentecostal Church with the Revs. David Poole, Ronnie Warren, Clarence Wiley, Larry Dudley, Wesley Quave, Kenny Patten and Wayne Grant officiating.
Burial will follow at Magnolia Cemetery in Nebo, La., under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. today at the church.
Cross was born Jan. 27, 1982 in Houma, La., the son of Charles Cross of Bush, La., and Wanda Hines of Jonesville.
Cross was a resident of Bush, a tankerman and a member of New Life United Pentecostal Church in Bogalusa. He was a loving husband, father, son and friend.
Cross was preceded in death by his daughter, Makayla Hope Cross; maternal grandparents, Hayward Hines and Gladys McLain Hines; paternal grandparents, T.W. Cross Jr. and Estelle Reynolds Cross; and father-in-law, the Rev. Roy Archer.
Survivors include his wife, Marita Cross of Bush; daughter, Moriah Faith Cross of Bush; his parents; father-in-law, Wayne and Gayla Grant of Bogalusa, La.; sister, Tammy D. Forrester of Columbus; and a number of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Pallbearers will be Aaron Dusenbery, Brian Mann, David Thompson, Glen Lasyone, Jason Hensel, Lance Breland, Lester Badeaux and Ryan Forrester.
Honorary pallbearers will be A.J. Sharp, Carl W. Parker, Chase Sharp, Chris Morgan, Larry Hines, Randall Forrester, Ryan Golightly, Ryan Overbye and Wolf Trisler.
