Double Nelson

NATCHEZ – Services for Double Day Nelson, 80, of Natchez, who died Friday, Oct. 24, 2008, at his residence, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at New Hope Baptist Church.
Burial will follow at the church cemetery under the direction of Marshall Funeral Home in Bude.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time Saturday at the church.
Mr. Nelson was born Sept. 2, 1928, in Franklin County, the son of Emmanuel Nelson Sr. and Eva Keaton Nelson.
He was preceded in death by two children, Bertha Ree Felton and Willie Earl Felton; one grandchild, Ramonia Nelson; one sister, Dorthy Nelson; and two brothers, Walter Lee Nelson and Arthur Lee Nelson.
Survivors include a loving and devoted wife, Dortha Nelson; 11 children, Mary Dan and husband, Michael, both of New York, Lee Arthur Felton and wife, Irma, Derbie Nelson and wife, Jada, Ginetta Anderson and husband, Matthew, and Wallace Anderson, all of Natchez, Kathy Hampton and husband, Samuel, and Lucille Brenghettsy, both of La Place, La., Glenda Montgomery and husband, Dedrick, both of Ferriday, Lisa Devare and Donald Nelson, both of Reserve, La., and Helen Jean Nelson of Trenton, N.J.; five sisters, Laura Victor of Jonesville, Mildred Nelson, Mary Ellen Nelson, Etta Lee Nelson and Eva Law, all of Franklin County; two brothers, Emanuel Nelson and Curtis Lee Nelson, both of Franklin County; 30 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
