NATCHEZ — The Adams County Sheriff’s Office is investigating an alleged sexual battery a 56-year-old woman reported Thursday.

Sheriff Chuck Mayfield said the woman was reportedly picked up by a female friend, and the two went to the friend’s house where they drank alcohol.

The woman reported that she went to sleep and woke up to find a male acquaintance sexually assaulting her, Mayfield said. The woman blacked out shortly after waking up, Mayfield said.

The sheriff’s office is currently interviewing suspects, Mayfield said, and anyone with any information about the case should call ACSO at 601-442-2752.
