NATCHEZ — Services for Gladys Jo “Nanee” Seale, 85, of Natchez, who died Saturday, April 20, 2013, at University Medical Center in Jackson, will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Parkway Baptist Church with the Rev. Jeff Brewer officiating.
Burial will follow at the Gloster Cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home and from noon until service time Wednesday at the church.
Mrs. Seale was born Oct. 12, 1927, in Amite County, the daughter of William Lee Havard and Sarah Addie Reeves Havard. She was a long-time member of Morgantown Baptist Church.
Mrs. Seale was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved gardening, gospel music, cooking and spending time with her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, family and friends. She was an avid NASCAR fan and loved watching football.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands, W.L. Umberger and Mack Seale Jr.; and three brothers, Walter Lee Havard, Carroll James Havard and John Stanford Havard.
Survivors include two daughters, Brenda U. Jones and Jo Lynn Gore and husband, Brent, all of Natchez; two granddaughters, Courtney Hicks and husband, John, and Lori Hodges and husband, Eric; three great-grandchildren, Erin Hicks, John Ashton Hicks and Emily Hicks; one sister, Camille Havard McKinney; two brothers, Edward Havard and wife, Billie Jean, and O.G. Havard and wife, Martha; two sisters-in-law, Lorraine Havard and Hazel Havard; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be John E. Hicks Jr., John E. Hicks III, John Ashton Hicks, Eric Hodges, Brent Gore and Brian Hammons.
Honorary pallbearers will be her brothers and nephews.
Memorial contributions may be made to Parkway Baptist Church Building Fund, Cathedral School Capital Campaign or to a charity of choice.
