Alice McCraine

WOODVILLE — Services for Alice Nix McCraine, 82, of Woodville, who died Friday, Nov. 7, 2008, will be at 10 a.m. at Woodville United Methodist Church with the Rev. Van Moore, the Rev. Rodney Smith and Brother Bernard Waites officiating.
Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery, in Woodville, under the direction of Newman Funeral Home in Gloster.
Mrs. McCraine was born July 20, 1926, in McCall Creek, the daughter of Foster Nix and Eunica Nix. She was an only child. She was a graduate of McCall Creek High School, Copiah-Lincoln Junior College and Mississippi Southern University where she earned her master’s degree in education. Following her graduation from Mississippi Southern University, she began her teaching career in the Woodville Public School System where she taught for many years before transferring to Wilkinson County Christian Academy where she completed her career with a total of 32 years.
She married Nolan C. McCraine in 1946, and they made their home in the Whitestown community of Wilkinson County for the past 62 years.
She was survived by her husband.
Pallbearers for Alice N. McCraine and Nolan C. McCraine will be Dave McCraine, David Bramlette, Andy Lewis, Dr. Bob Lewis, T.J. Morris, Justin Hendry, Mike Daughdrill, Buck Darden, Hiram McGraw, Lane White, Russell Vines and John Leake.
Honorary pallbearers will be Swayze McCraine, David L. McCraine, John McCraine, Dr. Elwyn Cavin, Dr. Jack Thielsen, Dr. Jennings Owens, Honorable Tom Rosenblatt, Honorable David S. Crawford, J.M. Sessions III, Glen Ray Whetstone and Louis Lisk.
