NATCHEZ — Just a week after he was arrested for controlled substance violations, a Natchez man was arrested again for allegedly assaulting and robbing a witness.

Adams County Sheriff Chuck Mayfield said Leon Jones, 32, 601 Old Washington Road, was arrested April 12 for possession of promethazine and marijuana and possession of a weapon by a convicted felon.

Jones was released on bond Tuesday, and Mayfield said Jones allegedly assaulted and robbed a witness to the previous drug incident that day at Williams Apartments.
