EVA, La. – Graveside services for Peggy Joyce Gordon Moncrief, 69, of Vidalia, who died Tuesday, Nov. 11, 2008, at her residence, will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Hedrick Cemetery, in Eva, La., with Dr. Ralph Webber officiating.
Burial will follow under the direction of Comer Funeral Home in Ferriday.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Mrs. Moncrief was born April 4, 1939, in Eva, the daughter of Frank and Birdie H. Gordon. She was retired from First Baptist Church, in Vidalia, as secretary with over 30 years of service and was also a member.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Richard M. Moncrief Sr.; and one sister, Emmilee Feierabend.
Survivors include two sons, Richard M. Moncrief Jr. of Marksville, La. and Charles R. Moncrief of Vidalia; two sisters, Marilyn Frith and husband, Ed, both of Mansfield, La. and Phyllis Dean Hamilton and husband, Dixie, both of Eva; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Don Hamilton, Chucky DeWeese, Corey Frith, Corky Frith, Glen Bringol and Russ Caldwell.
