NATCHEZ – Services for Fred E. Vinson, 89, of Natchez, who died Wednesday, Nov. 12, 2008, at Natchez Regional Medical Center, will be at 2 p.m. today at Laird Funeral Home Union Street Chapel with Dr. Edgar Wright officiating.
Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until service time today at the funeral home.
Mr. Vinson was born Jan. 18, 1919, in Chester, Texas, the son of Dan Marshall Vinson and Obie Lockhart Vinson. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Falfaurrias, Texas and was a member of the Waco, Texas Masons.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Mary Ann Vinson; four brothers, A.B. Vinson, Richard Vinson, Clyde Vinson and Raymond Vinson.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Frances Vinson; two sons, Lonnie E. Vinson of Natchez and Robert Vinson of Big Sandy, Texas; one sister, Marie Hill of Liberty, Texas; one granddaughter, Melanie Williams of Baton Rouge; four grandsons, Gene Vinson of San Diego, Andrew Vinson of Chicago, Tim Vinson of Tyler, Texas and Matthew Vinson of Natchez.
Pallbearers will be Kevin Williams, Matthew Vinson, Tim Vinson, Kennon Cupit, Gene Vinson and Jason Vinson.
Honorary pallbearers will be Alton Daniels and Kevin Cupit.
