NATCHEZ – Services for Gloria White Ryan, “Ham-Ma,” 62, of Natchez, who died Saturday, Nov. 22, 2008, at her residence, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Pilgrim Baptist Church with the Rev. Melvin White officiating.
Burial will follow at Pine Hill Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of George F. West Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home and from 10 a.m. until service time Saturday at the church.
Gloria was born Nov. 27, 1946, in Natchez, the daughter of Sandy and Harriett White. She graduated from St. Francis High School and attended Alcorn College. She was an active member of Pilgrim Baptist Church and worked for AJFC Thompson Head Start as a social services specialist for 32 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Morris Fitzgerald, Roosevelt Fitzgerald, Jesse Fitzgerald and Sandy White III; and one sister, Dorothy Bradley Stream.
Survivors include four children, Shawnnelle “Tracy” White, Angel Lyvette White, Princess White-Shannon and husband, Keoshi, and Carl Thomas Ryan II; 12 grandchildren, Kendrell, Asti, Kedrian, Kia, Kelvon, Essence, Niya, Kelius, Kinya, Zion, Carlito and Carl; and one brother, Roosevelt White and wife, Mary.
Pallbearers will be Clem Campbell, Theodore Merrick, Michael Bradley, Philip Wimley, Samuel Brown and Anthony Heidelberg.
