A wet and cold week turned into a bright and sunny weekend in the Miss-Lou.

Let’s take a look back at some of the highlights from last week:

•Adams County Christian School students are selling wristbands that read, “ACCS loves Blair Lee” to raise money for the 17-year-old student who was injured in a car accident in early March. We wish the students well with the fundraising campaign and pray Lee makes a full recovery.

•Athletes gathered at the Natchez High School track Friday morning to compete in the Area 7 Special Olympics in a variety of events including a 25-meter wheel-chair race and softball throw. Congratulations to all the athletes who competed, and we thank the volunteers who make this event possible each year.

•Natchez resident Joey Wilson, along with other riders from across the region, took to the streets Saturday to ride in the annual Belles on Bikes recreational ride. We’re glad to see the event had another successful ride this year.

•Natchez High School student Terry McBeth has his sights set on the nation’s Capitol after getting a taste of politics in February when he attended a Youth Leadership Conference in Jackson. McBeth will travel to Washington, D.C., in June to meet with several congressional leaders. We wish McBeth the best on his journey to becoming a congressman.
