FERRIDAY — Services for Ada Maude Brasher Finn, 76, of Ferriday, who died Thursday, April 4, 2013, at Promise Hospital in Vidalia, will be at 2 p.m. today at Young’s Funeral Home in Ferriday with the Rev. Bo Swilley and Kelly Lange officiating.
Burial will follow at Rogers Cemetery in Clayton under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 12:30 p.m. until service time today at the funeral home.
Mrs. Finn was born Jan. 9, 1937, in Start, La., the daughter of James “Pete” Brasher and Agnes Traxler Brasher. She was a teacher and a member of First Baptist Church of Ferriday.
Mrs. Finn retired after 26 years of teaching at Ferriday Lower Elementary School and Huntington School. She felt that her greatest accomplishment in life was her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Finn was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Manson Nelson Sr.; and second husband, L.G. “Sonny” Finn.
Survivors include two daughters, Dr. Debbie Guillory and husband, Tony, of Ferriday and Traci Swilley and husband, Bo, of Natchez; one son, Manson Nelson Jr. of Vidalia; three stepchildren, Mickey Finn, Ricky Finn and Vicky Finn, all of Natchez; one brother, James P. Brasher of Ridgecrest; two sisters, Jerri Kelly of Tupelo and Kay Jenkins and husband, Winston, of Natchez; 11 grandchildren, Dr. Veronica Smith, Lindsey Kay Dupree, Jamie Lynn Halley, Brittney Blaney Smith, Joshua Cole Guillory, David “Brent” Swilley, Seth Swilley, Macee Steele, Chris Martin, Heather Martin and John Martin; and seven great-grandchildren, Tennie Duncan, Jentry Smith, Ezra Dupree, Reveille Dupree, Seth Smith, Stormie Smith and Timothy “Clark” Swilley.
Pallbearers will be David “Brent” Swilley, Seth Swilley, Joshua Guillory, Jeremy Smith, Matthew Dupree and Jonathan Halley.
Honorary pallbearers will be Winston Jenkins, James Brasher Jr., James “Trey” Brasher III, Roger “Chip” Kelly and Walter “Mann” Moore.
