FERRIDAY — Services for Julia “Judy” Barnes, 76, of Vidalia, who died Monday, Jan. 5, 2009, at St. Francis Cabrini Hospital in Alexandria, La., will be at 10 a.m. today at the Pentecostal Church of Miss-Lou, in Ferriday, with the Rev. Gary Howington officiating.
Burial will follow at the Natchez City Cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.
Mrs. Barnes was born Sept. 14, 1932, in Newellton, La., the daughter of Clark Walter Parker and Julia Britton Herring Parker.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and one brother, Bill Parker.
Survivors include her husband, Charles Balford Barnes; three children, Charles E. Barnes Sr. and wife, Mary, both of Indiana, Sherry L. Harris and husband, Billy, and Jerry L. Barnes Sr. and wife, Shelly, all of Vidalia; 13 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Charles Parker of Wisner and Ronnie Parker and wife, Sally, of Joliet, Ill.; four sisters, Clara Belle Parker and Joyce Jones, both of Jigger, La., Jennie Parker of Gulf Shores, Ala. and Charlotte Roberts and husband, Raymond, both of Florida.
Pallbearers will be Charles E. Barnes Jr., Travis Hutchinson, Lucas B. Barnes, Jarrod P. Barnes, James Harry Isabelle and Justin S. Barnes.
Honorary pallbearers will be Billy D. Harris, Clyde E. Boling, Sylvan Robins, Joe Blakley, Jeremey Howington and Brandon Vickers.
