ALEXANDRIA, La. — Paige Bryan limited Rapides to just four hits and Karlee Woodruff went 3-for-4 with a double as the Monterey Lady Wolves needed just four innings to defeat the Rapides Lady Mustangs 18-0 Thursday afternoon in LHSAA District 4-B action.

Bryan struck out two and didn’t walk a single batter in her four innings of work. And she got plenty of help from her teammates. After a scoreless first inning, Monterey scored seven runs in the top of the second inning, four in the top of the third and seven in the top of the fourth that ended the game early.

Grace Gill took the loss for the Lady Mustangs as she gave up 11 runs, struck out one batter and walked seven in three innings. Bailey New went 2-for-4 with a pair of doubles for the Lady Wolves.

Monterey (13-9, 5-2) next plays at 5 p.m. Tuesday at Oak Hill.
