NATCHEZ — Services for Albert “Scacy” Woods, 61, of Natchez, who died Thursday, Jan. 8, 2009, at Heritage Manor Health and Rehab, will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Paul African Methodist Episcopal Church with the Rev. John Quinn officiating.
Burial will follow at the church cemetery under the direction Robert D. Mackel and Sons Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from noon until 6 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Mr. Woods was born Oct. 16, 1937, in Natchez, the son of Hattie Beth Woods and Dorsey Harris. He attended Natchez-Adams Public Schools and was self-employed as a carpenter. He was a Methodist.
He was preceded in death by his mother; and one sister, Angela James.
Survivors include one daughter, Nedra Hackett and husband, Cecil, both of Natchez; twin sons, Casey Woods and Stacy Woods, both of Natchez; two grandsons, Chambliss Woods and Rijius Woods, both of Natchez; two sisters, Dorothy Porter of Ontario, Calif., and Diane Martin of Lithnia, Ga.; two brothers, Sylvester Harris of Natchez and Larry Harris of Florida; four aunts, Thelma Harris, Lena Deffebough and Julia M. Henry, all of Natchez, and Edna Johnson of Memphis, Tenn.; two uncles, Sylvester Woods and Ernest Woods, both of Natchez; a special cousin, Leonard Woods of Natchez; and a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Pallbearers will be Watani Tyehimba, Adell Gaylor, Cleotha Woods, Jerome Marshall, Ernest Gaylor and Leonard Woods.
Honorary pallbearer will be Harry Anderson.
