JONESVILLE — Services for Bobbie Carpenter Rouse, 75, of Jonesville, who died Sunday, Jan. 11, 2009, will be at 10 a.m. today at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Dennis Relaford officiating.
Burial will follow at Heard Cemetery, in Manifest, La., under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home in Jonesville.
Mrs. Rouse was born Feb. 20, 1933, the daughter of Elmer Lee Carpenter and Clara Mae Corbin Carpenter. She was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. She loved traveling, listening to gospel music with her friends, playing dominos and spending time with her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Dewitt Roy Carpenter; and sister-in-law, Ruby Carpenter.
Survivors include three daughters, Lynn Oxley and husband, Paul, both of Monroe, La., Mona Rouse of Jonesville and Beth Ashworth and husband, Olin, both of DeQuincy, La.; one son, Buddy Rouse and wife, Tammy, both of Vidalia; the father of her children, Raymond Rouse of Jonesville; special friends, Don and Beverly Templeton and Joyce Parker; eight grandchildren, Trey, Chris and Billy Rouse, Jason Aplin, Staci Cater, Josh Neal, Kristen Van Slyke and Gunnar Ashworth; and three great-grandchildren, Connor Aplin, Caden Aplin and Matthew Van Slyke.
Pallbearers will be Trey, Chris and Billy Rouse, Jason Aplin, Lee Cater, Josh Neal and Justin Van Slyke.
Honorary pallbearers will be Gunnar Ashworth, Connor Aplin, Caden Aplin and Matthew Van Slyke.
