NATCHEZ — Services for Minnie Carnell Sandbeck, 91, of Natchez, who died Saturday, March 23, 2013, at her residence, will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Laird Funeral Home Chapel with David Dollar officiating.
Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today and from 10 to 10:45 a.m. Thursday, both at the funeral home.
Mrs. Sandbeck was born Aug. 19, 1921, in Ringling, Okla., the daughter of Oscar Elias McConnell and Mary Maud Langford.
Minnie’s lifelong hobby was genealogy. She maintained the Natchez Family History Center for a number of years — helping and teaching others to trace their family roots.
Minnie worked tirelessly in the library until the age of 90 and was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Natchez.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Woodrow “Peanut” Carnell; her second husband, Gustav “Gus” Sandbeck; and great-granddaughter, Leslie Megan Bradley.
Survivors include her children, David Carnell and wife, Sue, of Vicksburg, Louise Carnell Bradley and husband, Lanny, Elaine Carnell Boylston, all of Shelbyville, Tenn., and Daniel Carnell of Natchez, who was also her loving caregiver; two stepchildren, Harold Sandbeck and wife, Sheri, of Salt Lake City, Utah and Elenor Sandbeck Tominatsu and husband, Kevin, of Littleton, Colo.; 11 grandchildren, Denise Carnell, Angela Bradley, Darryl Bradley, Kelly Carnell Ables, Amy Bradley Jackson, Cayden Boylston, Nikki Boylston Poll, Amber Boylston Alfaro, Robert Tominatsu, Ryan Tominatsu and Ethan Sandbeck; and 13 great-grandchildren, Bradley Ingram, Paige Ingram, Lauren Sproles, Haley White, Brandon Bradley, Victoria White, Camille Ables, Ariana Alfaro, Riley Leonardo Alfaro, Natalie Alfaro, Solomon Alfaro, Hilari Poll and Cody Poll.
Pallbearers will be Wayne Boylston, Darryl Bradley, Lanny Bradley, Paul Eppling, Elder Chandler Atkins, Elder Zach Dustin, Elder Garret Keller and Elder Tyler Schould,
