GLOSTER — Services for Hazel Geter Vines, 80, of Centreville, formerly of Perrytown near Crosby, who died Saturday, March 23, 2013, at Field Memorial Hospital in Centreville, will be at 2 p.m. today at Brown Funeral Home Chapel in Gloster with the Rev. Bernard Waites officiating.
Burial will follow at Roseland Cemetery in Gloster under the direction of Brown Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until service time today at the funeral home.
Mrs. Vines was born Feb. 26, 1933, in Wilkinson County, the daughter of Henry and Eula Geter.
Mrs. Vines and her husband, Edgar, were former owners/operators of the Glostonian Motel and Restaurant in Gloster. She later became the manager of T.W.L. store in Gloster.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Edgar Vines Sr.; two sisters, Mary Adline Davis and Eula Henreitta Sanders; and two brothers, Henry Leroy Geter and James Thomas Geter.
Survivors include two daughters, Suzanne Shorey and husband, Martin, of Centreville and Pam Vines of Jackson; one son, Edgar “Butch” Vines Jr. and wife, Pam, of Hattiesburg; one sister, Birdie Pourciau of Walker, La.; eight grandchildren, Michelle Paine and husband, Jonathan, Miranda Shorey and Melissa Hebert and husband, Joshua, all of Centreville, Tiffany Melancon and husband, Dave, and Ed Vines III and wife, Heather, all of Hattiesburg, and Gabriel Trim, Payton Trim and Ben Williams, all of Gloster; and six great-grandchildren, Brodie Lafontaine, Ian Ball, Tanner Shorey, Sophia Krueger, Lydia Melancon and Luke Melancon.
