FAYETTE — Services for Virginia Gooch Griffith, 86, of Fayette, who died Sunday, Jan. 18, 2009, at Kings Daughters Medical Center in Brookhaven, will be at 10 a.m. today at Fayette Baptist Church with the Rev. William F. Sirmin officiating.
Burial will follow at the Fayette Cemetery under the direction of Spencer Funeral Home in Fayette.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until service time today at the church.
Mrs. Griffith was born June 30, 1922, in Yazoo City, the daughter of Manford and Ruth McNeil Gooch.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Survivors include her husband, Robert Garland Griffith; one daughter, Gayle Hicks Wade and husband, Jerry, both of Hermanville; two grandsons, Wayne Wade and wife, Samantha, both of Fulton, and Chad Wade and wife, Shannon, both of Vancleane; two great-grandsons, David and Charlie Wade; one sister, Dorothy G. Hamann of LaCombe, La.; two stepsons, Danny Griffith and wife, Patsy, both of Madison, and Henry Griffith and wife, Jean, both of Mobile, Ala.; three step-grandchildren, Danielle Griffith, Steve Griffith and Heather G. Mathias; and two step-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Howard Bonds, Scott Griffith, Steven Griffith, Patrick Sanders, Chad Wade and Wayne Wade.
