Week of March 15-21:

John Williams twice pleaded guilty to simple assault.

Reginald Williams pleaded guilty to simple assault.

Lawrence Warner charged with sale of a controlled substance. Case bound over to a grand jury. Warner was also charged with possession of a controlled substance. Case bound over to a grand jury. Warner was also charged with possession of a stolen gun. Case bound over to a grand jury.

John Hoggatt pleaded guilty to simple assault.

Leecie Jane Dunn charged with domestic violence. Case bound over to a grand jury.

Adams County Circuit Court Cases

Tuesday, March 19:

Davarous Clemons pleaded guilty to manslaughter (Count I) and armed robbery (Count II) in Judge Forest “Al” Johnson’s court. Sentenced to 20 years on Count I and 45 years on Count II to run concurrent in the Mississippi Department of Corrections. Full credit for time served in the Adams County Jail. Must pay all court costs and fees and a $200 prosecution fee. Upon acceptance of the guilty plea, a separate unindicted charge of armed robbery is dismissed.

Tuesday, March 12:

James Luster has his post-release supervision revoked in Judge Johnson’s court for being clearly in violation of the terms of his supervision after being convicted of murder by jury trail on Jan. 30, 2013 in cause numbered 12-KR-0159(A)-S. The defendant must serve the remaining balance of his sentence to run consecutive in the MDOC.

Dexter Miles pleaded guilty to felony shoplifting in an amount being more than $500 (Count I) in Johnson’s court. Sentenced to 10 years in MDOC. Full credit for time already served in the Adams County Jail. Must pay all court costs and fees and a $200 prosecution fee. The defendant must receive intensive therapeutic drug and alcohol treatment with MDOC.

Thursday, March 7:

Horace Pullins II has his probation revoked in Judge Lillie Blackmon Sanders’ court for failing to comply with the rules of the Hinds County Restitution Center. Defendant is reinstated and returned back to the Mississippi Restitution Center until all previous court ordered outstanding court costs and supervision fees are paid in full.

Thursday, Jan. 31:

Yajaira Mercado pleaded guilty to introduction of contraband into jail facility in Sanders’ court. The Court withholds acceptance of the defendant’s plea and enters and order of non-adjudication of guilt and imposition of sentence, provided successful completion of the conditions imposed in this order. Must pay all court costs and a $200 prosecution fee within 60 days from this date in the office of the Adams County Circuit Clerk. Also ordered that the Court retain jurisdiction for a period of one year and the defendant be placed under supervision of MDOC.

Friday, Jan. 18:

Jeromy D. Stewart pleaded guilty to possession of stolen property (Count II) in Sanders’ court. Sentenced to five years in MDOC. After serving five months, the remaining balance is suspended, and the defendant is placed of five years formal probation under the supervision of MDOC. Also ordered that the five-year sentence shall run concurrently with sentence in cause numbered 12KR0081S. Must pay all court costs and a prosecution fee of $200 in the office of the Adams County Circuit Clerk within 30 days from this date. Must pay restitution of $885 to the Natchez Water Works in the office of the Adams County Circuit Clerk. Further ordered that all restitution in causes numbered 12KR0078S and 12KR0081S shall be paid in full within the first two years of the five-year probation. Also ordered that restitution shall be paid in monthly increments of $200 until all restitution has been paid in full. Counts I and III (possession of stolen property) are dismissed. Credit given for any time already served.

Also ordered that restitution shall be paid in monthly increments of $200.00 until all restitution has been paid in full. Count II (possession of stolen property) is dismissed. Credit given for any time already served.

Natchez Municipal Court Cases

Monday, March 18:

Alka Patel, 51, pleaded guilty to shoplifting — first offense. Sentenced to 30 days suspended for one year pending good behavior. Banned from Walmart, Fine set at $594.

Darren Fleming Jr., 23, found guilty of misdemeanor possession of marijuana. Driver’s license suspended for six months. Fine set at $564. Fleming was also charged with possession of a controlled substance. Case dismissed upon motion of defense, illegal search and seizure and lack of proper ID of substance.

Danny Hazlip, 58, charged with trespassing. Defense’s motion granted to dismiss case without prejudice based upon lack of notice, eviction pending in another court, and case civil in nature not criminal.

Timothy Jerel Dukes, 22, pleaded guilty to simple assault — domestic violence 2nd offense. Fine set at $694.

Jessica Brown pleaded guilty to simple assault — domestic violence. Sentenced to 30 days with 29 days suspended for one year pending good behavior. To serve 24 hours in jail. Fine set at $594.

Wednesday, March 20:

Amanda N. Hamilton, 28, pleaded guilty to malicious mischief. Sentenced to 10 days suspended for one year pending good behavior. Fine set at $294. Restitution set at $855. Hamilton also pleaded guilty to simple assault. Sentenced to 30 days with 29 days suspended for one year pending good behavior. To serve 24 hours in jail. Fine set at $519.
