NATCHEZ — Services for Clarice Montgomery, 72, of Natchez, who died Saturday, Jan. 17, 2009, at Promise Hospital in Ferriday, will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Greater New Zion Baptist Church with the Rev. Richard Noble Jr. officiating.
Burial will follow at the Natchez National Cemetery under the direction of Robert D. Mackel and Sons Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home and from 10 a.m. until service time Friday at the church.
Mrs. Montgomery was born Dec. 18, 1937, in Adams County, the daughter of Andrew and Stora Miller.
She was preceded in death by her husband, David J. Montgomery III; and her parents.
Survivors include two sons, Wayne Montgomery and wife, Ina, both of Houston, Texas, and David J. Montgomery IV of Atlanta; four daughters, Beverly Berry and husband, David, both of Carrollton, Ga., Veronica Montgomery of Natchez, Carmen Casey and husband, James, both of Los Angeles, and Demetris Montgomery; two sisters, Elizabeth Bradford of Meadville and Lucille Buchannan of Natchez; one sister-in-law, Yvonne Montgomery of Chicago; three brothers-in-law, Johnny Montgomery of South Bend, Ind., Edward Montgomery and James Hawkins, both of Natchez; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Pallbearers will be friends of the family.
