WINNSBORO — Services for Aubrey “Poppy” Jordan, 79, of Sicily Island, who died Sunday, March 17, 2013, at Rapides General, will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Young’s Community Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in Winnsboro with the Rev. Chris Hamilton officiating.

Burial will follow at New Pine Hill Cemetery in Sicily Island under the direction of Young’s Community Memorial Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mr. Jordan was a retired truck driver. He loved to drink coffee and shoot the bull.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Houston Jordan and Janie Lee Babcock; his wife, Gaynell Layman Jordan; one brother, Quincy Jordan; and his companion, Barbara Ann Perry.

Survivors include his stepchildren, Lanell Jordan and husband, Billy, of Winnfield, La., Bobby Rowell and wife, Brenda, of Little Rock, Ark., and Janet Irving and husband, Lane, of Blanchard, La.; special daughter, Janice Ewing and Jeff of Sicily Island; seven grandchildren; a number of great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and a number of nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Pallbearers will be James Leyda, Timothy Jordan, Tom Hand, Quinton Jordan, Buddy Evans and Tony Knapp.
