FERRIDAY — Services for Eva Mason Powell, 80, of Lake St. John, who died Saturday, Jan. 31, 2009, at Heritage Manor Health & Rehab, will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Mercy Seat Baptist Church with the Rev. Lee Andrew Martin officiating.
Burial will follow at the Natchez National Cemetery under the direction of Concordia Funeral Home in Ferriday.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home and from 9 a.m. until service time Friday at the church.
Mrs. Powell was born May 18, 1928, in Ferriday, the daughter of Clabe Mason and Rebecca Miles. She was a homemaker and a member of St. James Baptist Church in Ferriday.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Drew Powell Sr.; two sons, Solomon Mason and Freddie Mason; three sisters, Fevie, Clara and Edna Mason; and two brothers, Washington and Frank Mason.
Survivors include two sons, Drew Powell Jr. and wife, Vanessal, and Dale Powell and wife, Kathy, all of Monroe, La.; two daughters, Gloria M. Powell of Atlanta and Carolyn Powell and husband, Sammie, both of Vidalia; four sisters, Beulah White, Emma Morales and Rebecca Barber, all of Ferriday, and Laura Mason of Dallas; one brother, Clabe Mason and wife, Dorothy, both of Ferriday; one brother-in-law, Joe Powell and Otis, both of San Antonio, Texas; one sister-in-law, Elizabeth Powell-Patt of Atlanta; 17 grandchildren; a number of great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
