Natchez — Services for Matthew Nelson Davis, of Natchez, who died Wednesday, Feb. 18, 2009, will be at 1 p.m. today at Trinity Episcopal Church with the Rev. Duncan M. Gray officiating.

Visitation will be from noon to 12:50 p.m. in Kuehnle Hall.

Matthew was born July 30, 1979, in Oxford, the son of Chip Davis and Cathy Davis. He was baptized in St. Peter’s Episcopal Church in Oxford. Matt and his finacee, Summer Weathersby, were senior nursing students at Alcorn State University in their last semester. Matt was an accomplished guitarist and enjoyed his music.

Survivors include his fiancée, of Vidalia; his parents, both of Natchez; one brother, Zabe Davis and wife, Kristina, both of Sardis; his dog, Sky; and aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made in Matt’s name to Trinity Episcopal Church, P.O. Box 1323, Natchez, MS, 39121.

All memorial gifts will be given to the Mike Weathersby Fund to defray Mike’s cost of hospitalization for leukemia.

A dinner will be served following the service by the parish.
