Charles Baxter

NATCHEZ — Graveside services for Charles “Pappy” Baxter, 84, of Ferriday, who died Thursday, Feb. 26, 2009, at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the Natchez City Cemetery with the Rev. Glen Harrigill officiating.
Burial will follow under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home in Ferriday.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Mr. Baxter was born Oct. 2, 1924, the son of Paul M. Baxter and Lillie Ballenger Baxter. He served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, Ben Baxter.
Survivors include his wife, Della Baxter; two sons, Ronald Baxter Sr. and wife, Carla, and Paul Wayne Baxter, all of Ferriday; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be friends of the family.
