Curry allows just two hits for Block as Bears pound Harrisonburg

HARRISONBURG, La. — Kaily Curry allowed just two hits, no earned runs and struck out six batters in four innings as the Block Bears defeated the Harrisonburg Bulldogs 17-10 Thursday afternoon at the Harrisonburg Tournament.
Block scored nine runs in the top of the second inning that gave the Bears a 12-1 lead. After Harrisonburg tried to get back in the game with three runs in the bottom of the third inning, the Bears responded with three runs in the top of the fourth and one in the top of the fifth for a commanding 16-4 advantage.
Block added one more run in the top of the seventh, while Harrisonburg scored six runs in the final three innings.
Austin Danzy went 2-for-6 with two doubles while Jacob Hardy and Devin Oubre each went 2-for-6 with a double to lead the Bears at the plate.
Block (4-3) has two games at the Harrisonburg Tournament on Saturday, first against Carroll at noon and then against Avoyelles Charter at 6 p.m.
