FERRIDAY — Funeral services for Ruth Marie Routon King, 71, of Ferriday, who died Friday, March 6, 2009, at Rapides General Medical Center in Alexandria, will be 11 a.m. Monday at Westside Baptist Church with Bro. Raymond Ames and Bro. Larry Whittington officiating.

Burial will follow at Highland Park cemetery under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home in Ferriday.

The family will receive friends at Westside Baptist Church from 1 p.m. until today.

Mrs. King was born Nov. 9, 1937, in Jonesville, the daughter of Tolly Routon and Betty Hazel Harris Routon Masters.  She was a resident of Ferriday, a home maker and a member of the Westside Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her stepfather, Wilbern Masters, and her half-brother, Dalbert Masters.

Survivors include her husband, Red King of Ferriday; one son, Billy King Sr. and wife Linda of Winnie, Texas; one daughter, Betty Barlow and husband Lamar of Wisner; one grandson, Billy King, Jr. and wife Tabitha of Ferriday; three granddaughters, April Marie Matthews and husband Josh of Vidalia, Bonnie Jean Barlow of Sicily Island and Hailey of Winnie, Texas; one grandson, Samuel Edward Barlow of Wisner; two half–brothers, Wilbern Masters, Jr. of North Port, Neb., and David Masters and wife Theadora of Lufkin, Texas; two half-sisters, Josephine Bryant and husband Ricky of Lufkin, Texas, and Bertha Dunbarton and husband Tommy of Orange, Texas; and four great-granddaughters, Danika, Madison, Makala and Macy.

Pallbearers will be Billy King Jr., Josh Matthews, Samuel Barlow, Bonnie Barlow, Eddie Baron, and David Masters Jr.

Honorary pallbearers will be Carmon Edwards and Jacob Matthews.
